David Rowland was born on June 20, 1944. He was educated at
the University of Toronto, having received his B.Comm.
degree in 1966 and his M.B.A. in 1967. In 1980, David earned
a PhD degree in holistic nutrition from an alternative
university in the U.S. In 1994, a Peel County court
recognized Dr. Rowland as an expert in complementary
medicine.
Over the last 25 years, David Rowland
has formulated 36 food-based medicines that are relied
on by hundreds of thousands of people on two continents
for preventing, ameliorating and correcting specific
health conditions including atherosclerosis,
digestive weakness, stress related disorders,
hypercholesterolemia, adrenal fatigue, hypothyroidism,
cataracts, osteoporosis, arthritis, heavy metal
toxicity, diabetes, prostatitis, cancer, candidiasis,
and viral infections. David has received Canadian and
U.S. patents for vitamin-mineral formulation, and has
patents pending for an energizing formula.
Dr. Rowland created the Nutri-Body
method of nutritional assessment, used by practitioners
for identifying and supporting biochemical weaknesses.
David was also the founding president of the Nutritional
Consultants Organization of Canada (1983), and the
founder of two schools of nutrition: the Canadian
Nutrition Institute (1983), and the Edison Institute of
Nutrition (1996). Dr. Rowland has written 22 booklets
about self-health care and has had 88 articles published
in nine magazines. He also published Nutrition News
(1985-89) and Health Naturally Magazine (1992-99).
In 2008, David ran for federal election
as an independent candidate in the riding of Parry
Sound/Muskoka, Ontario. It was during this campaign that
he introduced the concept of direct democracy, whereby constituents would be able to tell their MPs how
to vote on key issues. We now have the technology to
conduct instant plebiscites, by means of secure web
sites and on-line voter security checks.
Over a span of 38 years, David has
periodically participated in various martial arts. In 1974
he received a black belt in karate. In 2009 he was a
tournament winner (over age 35 category) at the University
of Maine. He is presently learning kung fu. |
